It's simply this: to make Continuum a reality.
I wrote Continuum for broadcast. How it gets on to a screen for an audience to experience is really immaterial. Just as long as it gets there.
For the present time, Continuum is intended to be a web series. I love the idea of reaching an audience through the Internet, not limited by a network and its potentially narrow-minded assessment of what people want to watch. On any screen: TV, computer, pad, phone, anywhere in the world. For me, as a storyteller, this is the best of the best.
But Continuum could just as easily work on a conventional network. Or an unconventional one (are you listening, AMC?). So the door isn't closed in that respect.
Here is a number for you: $30,000.00
That is how much additional funding we require to make a network quality pilot. We already have monies dedicated toward that goal, just not enough to greenlight production.
And we won't make the pilot if we can't make it right.
How do we intend to raise the money?
Darn good quesiton.
Well if a benefactor is out there and likes anthologies, we are ready to bring you on board as a partner.
Or you can tell 5999 of your friends to head over to the store page and buy a $10.00 t-shirt. They cost 5 bucks apiece to make & ship.
We may even take a stab at Kickstarter.com at some point if the above options don't pan out.
